Here is an idea for a “cutaway” camera technique that could be tested in a game demo.
i beleave you forgot something here…
welcome to the forum btw =D
The whole idea got cut away.
My idea is to basically implant multiple cameras in a scene and then “cut” between them depending on the action.
For example, your avatar would be walking along and the camera will follow in the third-person perspective. Suddenly, a bad guy appears! The camera will, for instance, then start to zoom in on the NPC. It then cuts back to the player’s camera. You grab a box and hurl it at him. Before the box makes contact the camera switches to a view showing the box hitting him, then goes back to the player. You draw your gun. The camera changes to a hand camera showing this, then it might go to a first-person view to make shooting easier. This kind of gives you a picture of what I’m talking about.
The objective is to present an interactive form of montage to games. However, the effectiveness of the technique needs to first be tested in a game demo.
Unfortunately, I posses little skill when it comes to scripting, programming, or art. I’m more of a director/producer and writer.
Please do let me what you think, and let me know if you think such a demo should be created.
Thank you, and I look forward to seeing your feedback.
thats better=)
