More freelance games. The upcoming “Spider-Man,” “Grand Theft Auto,” and “The Elder Scrolls” allow you to go wherever you want, do whatever you want, and such and such. Guess what? “GTA” is a best-selling game. Do more stuff in that style.
Less licensed games. Not that licensed games are awful, but when you do cash-cows like “The Fast & The Furious” & “Bad Boys 2,” and no games based on “Run Lola Run” (which is absolutely suited to a video game), it’s boring. Do something based on a foreign film for once, or maybe make a game of Guy Ritchie’s films. (Well, except for “Swept Away.”)
More games like “The Getaway.” I’m not neccesarily saying that we should screw over the freedoms of “GTA” or such, but we should ditch on-screen indicators. “The Getaway” does that in order to make it more movie-like. We should do it more and make it more life-like.
Less graphics-intensive games. I know we shouldn’t really just make more IF games (though that would be cool), but come on; how many games need to be 3D and waste precious resources? Make more 2D games!
More freelance games, um I don’t know if thats the right term. But I know what your saying. The problem with those games is that intergrating a good focused story is difficult.
Based on a foreign film, maybe try looking more, many have been done but are hard to find.
Less graphics-intensive games, yea sure lets go play some atari Nothing wrong with hardcore graphics, just can’t base only on graphics
Yes, but gory games need good graphics really. Also, horror games do, and the atmosphere is even more important. Also, if you want to make games more life-like, then that means good graphics, doesn’t it?
Foreign films? (for me every american movie is foreign).
Well, some time ago there was made this game called “The City of Lost Childeren” based on the frech movie with same name. The movie is great BTW. I have not played the game made from it, but every review pretty much lynched it so, actyally what you need is people, who bother to make good game from the movies, like those old X-wing games. After those there has not been any good Star Wars based game.
The freedom of movement is great, I do agree, that GTA VICE CITY is exelent game, but there is just the amount of time you can play it at once. Tends to get rather boring. Like porno.
half life is probably the greatest game of our time, and then you got the second one coming out, but they not only make it graphically impressive, but they do have a fun story, good interactivity, and just overall fun to play, that is what we should take example from…
