Just out of curiosity, how do you come up with ideas for what you want to model next?

there is nearly infinite inspiration available via the www… try google image search too if you your imagination is failing you.
I usually start with the infamous cube. Extrude a few times, subdivide, smooth, seperate, and before I know it, it’s starting to become a starship, a continent, a car, and then, when I get an idea what it looks like, I start to work on it.
Otherwize, I just use new_neo’s monkeys.

Well what I do is search for models on google images and then attampt to go one step further. Visit a museum, find something interesting, take a few pictures, model it! Take a F-22 or the new F-35 for example, and model it. Watch out for some Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. Or choose your favorite sci-fi movie and find something. Or steal new_neo’s monkeys

I did a P38 because it’s my favorite warplane, Did my dream bedroom. At the moment I’m doing a ZiS-5V german army truck because… just because.
No clue here.
Another idea, comes from Enzoblue’s German Army Truck, try to model a few guns. Personally, my alltime favourite has been the UZI Submachine gun. There are classic WWII guns like the garand, MP-40, Thomson, etc.
You could also model an arena, a stadium or a colloseum (if I spelled that right), could be fun!

Hahah dinasaur - funny. Oh well that reminds me. I was looking at the weekend contests and speed modelling contests. And its funny the way some of them are conducted. I mean the topic. Usually they give a theme… the latest one i saw, the theme was “turmoil”… and well they just let their imagination flow!
I guess choose a theme and think about something. I love funny ridiculous themes. However, the problem is I cant think of any at the moment… any ideas?
