Ikosaeder Construction

Hi guys, this i my first post in here

I managed to create an Ikosaeder with
Add->Mesh->Icosphere with subdivision on 1. But is it possible now to render it that it looks like this ? : http://www.buschta.ch/ikopharm/templates/corporate_01/images/ikosa.gif

with curves i know howto do it, but is it possible to convert the mesh to curves or any other ideas ?

The script in the second link is probably easier to use, but the first is packed with features and super versatile.
