I was starting to do som tests this night, and I added a plane, added a material and when I was planning to use an image I have made as a texture to this plane nothing happened…
Blender refuses to load the image, I press load image, select the image I want, I have tried both jpg and png and after I press select nothing happens. It wont load and I does not work.
Anyone have a clue? I have tried to make a cube and i have tried “everything” but it just wont work…
In neither of them. I try to render and it isnt there…
But the problem is that it wont load the picture. When i am in the texture panel, and press load image. And after i selected it, it is supposed to show the path of the file, but it isnt there…
In the Image Selector click on the image with MMB or select it with LMB and click “Select Image”. If that doesn’t work try to load the image on another Material on another Object, or load it in the UV Editor or as a Background Image. If it loads successfully in either of those then you will be able to select it from the Image tab’s menu. If that still doesn’t work try to load a different image as the first may be corrupted (although it should give you an error message if that’s the case). Try a new file with a new object too.
When you select the image file, does its name/path appear in the rollout menu above the Load Image button?
The Console is the separate window that opens when you start Blender, at least in Windows. I don’t know what it looks like on other OS’s. It reports error messages among other things.
Some things to check:
Make sure the Movie and NegAlpha buttons are off.
The check box next to the texture slot should be checked.
Try deleting your .b.blend file; maybe you have saved some strange default settings accidentally.
are you loading the image in the UV/Image window or under the texture Buttons menu?
is your material set to material, world or lamp? should be set to material [ mat ] unless you are trying to use it as a backgound or a projection. (the little buttons next to the preview window)
make sure Texface is selected and that the checkbox next to your texture is checked in the materials textures menu.
Other than that I don’t know what the problem could be Iv’e never seen a problem like that.
No it does not show in that rollout menu. That is what is so frustrating… It just wont load any pictures. Same when i try to load a background image. Ive tried to load images that ive used as textures before that i know should work. But it is hopeless.
Im on Macintosh, someone know how to delete all settings i have made? It usually is a plist file, but ive deleted the whole blender folder but that didnt do it…
I have the EXACT same problem. I can’t LOAD any image format/size/location into blender at all. Not into the texture pane, background image, UV…
I’m on OS X 10.3.9, Blender 2.41
Ive found that it is something with the default file that is created by blender. Ive loaded a blend file with a texture, then i worked fine. So i created a new default user. ctrl-u from a blend file that worked…
On linux (Mac may be the same) the images sometimes use the relative path found in hiddend file .Blog usually in your home directory. I found if the content of that file points to a directory that no longer exits all image loading will fail. Try removing that file. I put in a bug report a while back for linux, if it’s the same problem on Mac, that might be worth updating the bug report.
That seemed to do the trick, thank you very much. I found to files in my Home directori, .Blog and .B.blend, i deleted both of them and everything was back to default and loading images worked. Nice…
You mentioned something about a bugreport, where can i update this one?
