Image not saving when rendering

When ever I render an image I can’t seem to find the image even though its supposed to save in the default folder. ive also changed the location its supposed to save to and still nothing… Ive tried everything I could think of and it still won’t work besides making it render the animation (though its not) and putting it so it only renders one frame. How can i make it so it renders like normal? Sorry if this is in the wrong section. Im new to this forum and to blender.

F3
(that message was too short so I had to add this sentence so that it would submit.)

xray,

when you render a still image, you need to save it yourself.

As freen has said this is either by pressing f3 and choosing somewhere to save it, or by navigating through the ‘file>save rendered image’ menu.

When rendering an animation, images are automatically saved to the specified location.

When rendering an animation, images are automatically saved to the specified location.

that would usually be:
c: mp
in windows if your master drive is C: and you just kept clicking next on the installer without changing anything.
it is:
/tmp
in linux, where you will need a root password to manipulate it.
you can change that path in the render buttons.

like freen and alltaken said, F3 for still images

…and I would’ve added all that helpful background information, like Mmph and Alltaken did, but was just amused to be able to provide a 2 digit answer.
