Image Textures and MetaBalls

Hi all,

i have to build a shot where a planet divides itself in two, like a meiosis process… It doesn’t have to be realistic but organic.
The solution i think at first was to use metaballs…

Is there a way to use image textures on metaballs, uvmap it, etc ???

Uhmmm… nevermind.
I will use traditional spheres and lattice deformations.
Seems like metabals only acepts procedural textures… and i don’t have time to reach realism with procedural textures.
