import from other software?

hi, I am totally new to blender and want to know whether we can import projects from other software such as AutoCAD and 3D studio max?

Start Blender - Click on File…import and you will see a list of file types that a python script has been written for. If you have not yet downloaded Blender, but just want some info - start here:

Blender can import quite a few formats, with the glaring exception of 3D Studio Max. Apparently the Max people went out of their way to make it impossible.

It has been my experience that Wavefront obj files import the best.
