Import image as plane

Hello,

i just try to follow again this tutorial [1] with the blender version 2.73. Problem is that when I proceed File->Import->Image as Plane, than no plane is created, but blender folder is opened instead.

So, how to proceed now?

Thanks, Tomas.

How is Blender supposed to map an image onto a plane, without you telling Blender first what image file you want to use?

So, of course Blender’s file browser will open for you to choose an image file first. Once you click “Import Images as Planes” in the upper right corner of the file browser, Blender will create a plane with the same aspect ratio and bring the image in.

Yes, a file browser opens. You need to browse to your image file, select it and click “Import Images as Planes”.

Heh, IkariShinji was faster

Yes, thanks. Sounds logic. Just that I was used to it with 2.6 when it just created the plane without asking me for the image.

But yes, everything clear.
