hi.
i’m exporting a .obj file from xsi and it’s all clean. but importing it in blender makes it in a few parts of the model triangulated. i switched off “smooth groups” when importing.
any ideas how to avoid messing up the geometry when importing?

The .obj importer does not triangulate the mesh. I am not familiar with XSI, but if the model has faces that have more than 4 sides, Blender does not support these, so it will convert a 5 sided poly inot a quad and a tri. There is a selection in the importer called “create fgon”, which will attempt to hide the ngon by making it an fgon.
