Import site failed.

Hello:
The following error message related to python not found when starting blender is covered in the FAQ:
Import site failed.

But I’ve actually installed python and the message keeps appearing.

What It is supposed to be done to fix this, thank you.

You need to set your Pythonpath and how you do it depends on your OS. Anyhow, this shouldn’t be happening anymore since at least 2.40, so it might have something to do with where you installed Python. Best place is on C:/

And the enviroment variable is pythonpath?

I know how to set env variables, just tell me the name and i’ll do it.

Thanks.

I set PYTHONPATH as c:\python2.5, etc etc, following the instructions on the link you posted and still not luck. same message appears.

I’ve been trying to run the script povanim and it keeps halting.

Thanks.

Current official Blender downloads won’t support Python 2.5, you’d have to compile your own build. Py. 2.4 will work in everything but some Mac OS’s which have a seperate download for py. 2.3. Sounds like you’re on windoze so get 2.4 and you’ll be good to go.

Downgraded from 2.5 to 2.4. Modified the env variable and Voila, now blender says it has it.

Thank You!!
