Import strip reversed

Hello,

When I import images into a strip in the video editor I noticed they are reversed. Its easy enough to put them back in right order but would be nice to have it going the right way first time.

Am i doing something wrong?

Nope, this is just how it works for some dumb reason. To get them right, you have to import them backwards. The simple way is to reverse the sorting in the file browser.

It’s my least favorite thing about the VSE, sadly there’s not much development happening there

Ahh ok. strange way of default behaviour but it is what it is I guess

I had a similar problem - https://blenderartists.org/t/video-editing-frame-numbers-mixed-up/1514101

Turns out the file browser was sorting files based on date/time. In the file browser, at the top, there are 3 icons for display type, to the right of them is a down arrow. Clicking that will allow you to adjust how the files are sorted. Setting it to ‘Name’ and the files will be sorted by name. So if the images are named 0001.png, 0002.png, 0003.png, etc, they will appear in the correct order and be brought in in the correct order.

In short, the order they appear in the file browser is the order they will be brought in. So if it’s sorting by date/time, last image will be first.

Hope this helps,
Randy

What I do is to click on “reverse video” after importing :man_shrugging:
