Imported Alembic object not recognised by Inflow

Hi all
I’ve animated an object with bones in another app then imported via alembic format into Blender. I have made the object an inflow object but the particles wont respect the movement of the object’s animation. It simply emits particles based on the objects position on the first frame.

Simply animated objects (Transform, rotation and scale) that dont use bones or MDD files work just fine

Can anybody suggest what might be going on?
