When I import a vector object (in this case a AI file), and then I convert it to a mesh in object mode, and switch back to edit mode… I am getting something that looks like this…
But that doesnt look very good for editing. It seems like there’s too many vertices, and the original shape didnt have a hole in it at the left foot of the A, as it was all one continuous plane.
I was able to to get Blender text letters to be all in one plane by typing in the text, and then in object mode hitting alt-c, going into edit mode and hitting alt-c again, and then selecting all vertices and hitting F. This seems to work everytime, but it isnt working to make nice smooth faces for the 2D objects.
Any suggestions on how I might be able to clean it up?
