Importing .avi into blender

Hi. I think I posted this question before, but nobody answered, and I think I lost my post. :wink:

Anyway, is there any software that will allow you to export uncommpressed avi? Studio AV 7 and Windows Movie Maker will not allow you to do so. It will only allow for some kind of .Avi codec, in which case when I try to import it into blender, it says “Error: Not an animation”, or it doesn’t show up at all, or it just shows a still picture. I have tried importing into Blender 2.11, 2.25, and FunBlender. Please answer if you know the answer. Thank you.

Blender 2.25 (and funBlender too, I guess) can both import AVI compressed by codecs as long as you have that codec installed on your system.

For the other part of your question, VirutalDub http://www.virtualdub.org can export to avi RAW.
