Importing BVH files

When I import a BVH file, I get a large number of “points”, and all the keyframes are correctly inserted, which is great.
I was wondering, how to rig a mesh with this bvh data to make, say, a model of a man perform the actions in BVH files?

There’s an “Empties (points) to Armature” script in the Anim menu.
