I’ve suddenly found that its possible to import google sketchup models into blender but I am wondering how kml or kmz files can be placed into blender as there isn’t any sign of these file extension initials on the drop down menu.
Can anyone give a helping hand here please? Thanks
-first you get this file ( http://jmsoler.free.fr/util/blenderfile/py/kmz_ImportWithMesh_Z019j.py )
-then you place the module under ‘C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender.blender\scripts’, assuming you are under windows, otherwise your blender directory
-finaly if you run a new blender, it should be in file>import> google earth kmz
-Hope that helps,
chuzzy
Thanks very much I really neeeded that.
I am using the newest version of sketchup and an error comes up when I try to import. the error reads Sorry, these data are perhaps in Google Earth 4.0 format and are not managed at the moment.
It will save you a lot of time if you just learn to use blender to model and texture. Importing and exporting wastes lots of time.
