Importing SVG files as a texture.

I’m trying to create a animation with a very high resolution (6000X5760 pixels). At the moment I am using a jpeg in the animation but I don’t think this will result in very good quality. Would an SVG file be a good option, and if so is it possible to load it as a texture in blender?

No but, if you can create a script to convert it in another format and just use it like a simple texture.
