In pre-2.8 versions of Blender, there was this icon in the 3D Viewport…
…which would allow the user to “disconnect” that particular 3D View window so that the settings remained untouched compared to other 3D View windows. In other words, you could select whatever object groups (the equivalent of 2.8’s collections) you wanted to see, make it so that the “disconnect” icon was unchecked, and then go to another viewport where this icon was checked and choose different object groups to view.
Is this feature somewhere in Blender 2.8+? I can’t seem to find it.
