I have been learning how to model with blender for a while. I am not an expert but i am comfortable with my modeling skills. Recently I have started to look at texture and lighting.
but my lighting but my scene is very dim. how does one set up light and texture to something like the link i just provided. U do not have to explain UV maping. but just how to brighten up the scene
Cool, first of all Yafray is always a lot dimmer than Blender internal. A lamp intensity of 1 in Blender is the equivalent of a 3 or 4 for Yafray so you need to bump those up with the Exp, Emit and GI powers or just increase the lamps themselves.
Second, Yafray’s latest version has some really neat new features for indoor lighting and you should get it and take a look. Go to this page and read the release note’s, they’re written simply and will give you great ideas.
i have made significant progress after going through the links you guys provided. Thnx a bunch.
next question. in my renders the room is well lit now. however any object that i have added a uv map it becomes dull. the wood on the floor or my couch texture. U can bearly make out the details on the oject. If i render with out the uv map i can see the details of the object and the lighting is. How can i improve on this. here are some examples of what i would like to achive.
I think the picture looks really good. Can you post the texture for your wood floors and tables etc.Just all the wood, cause I’m tring to also make a room or a living room.
