InBlender Help Viewer

Hi guys,

had an idea, and postet it elsewhere, but there was no response:

The idea:
wouldn’t it be great to establish an Blender internal help-viewer.
Something like a overlay window that open when you press a shortcut and point to the blender-function you want to know more about. ?

My thought was to describe for example the subdivision modifier in a few short sentences in the window and give links to furthergoing information in terms of urls in the Blenderwiki or other sites. Then there could links to the tutorials and so on, maybe even a animated gif, or a small video for more complex topics. And this could be well centralised by using bf-proven data-material.

Tell me your opinion on that, would do the job whenever i will have some spare-time. This could be a good addition to the Blender-Summer of Documentation Project.

Personally i think although Blender is awesome it lacks the direct-help, and such a function could avoid new users from excoriating their fingers while searching the web and the different blender-sites-

Bye

Like in windows, when there is a funny window open and there is a little question mark icon, and you click on that and then on something and it tells you what it is? Actually, thats a great idea! Coupled with some good links (hopefully brilliant links after this summer of documentation thingummy) really would help newbies, as from my own experience it can take quite a while to figure things out just from google or whatever. Great idea!
