Incredibly slow startup, random crashes

Hi!

Starting a few days ago, when I launch blender.exe, I get a empty command prompt. At first I though that that was it, but when I came back maybe 30-60 minutes later, Blender started. Okay, never mind, I though and tried to open my project. As soon as I clicked on the “Open Project” button, Blender freezes and I have to shut it down. Repeated, same thing happens again, this time when I try to open a image in the UV-tab. This happens everytime, as soon as I press “Open project” it crashes. Any ideas?

Specs:
Nvidia GTX 960
8gb Ram
64x Windows 10
Intel Core i5-2500 CPU @ 3,30GHz

TL;DR
Blender.exe takes an hour to start, crashes when trying to load files.

sounds like it might be faulty hardware. check your hdd, especially if its a ssd. also it could be ram.

So what you are saying is that the HDD is about to break (probably)? It has been acting a little wierd now that you say it… Thank you for the reply.
