Hm… I didn’t have hardly any trouble seeing it (after I clicked on the picture). However, I’d say it looks to peaceful. If the premise is that he fell down the hole and was impaled by some of the spikes, then it shouldn’t look like he’s laying down taking a nap. It looks like you tried to get one of the spikes (with the hat) going through the rib cage. Perhaps if you broke some of the ribs, and then had the skeleton not resting fully on the ground because it is stuck on the spike, it would look more like an impact. The same goes with the spike; did it really stay perfectly intact and not move even though it completeley ran him through? And you need to coat everything in a layer of dust. I’m not sure how to do that, but… Just things to think about, anyways.
Its an interesting concept and I like the feel of the scene so far, and really like the modeling of the skeleton.
Sure it needs to be dark, but you can achieve a moody dark atmosphere and still have contrast. Look at the thumbnail.
All you can see is the title. A good composition should be able to be read at thumbnail size.
I would suggest that you fix the lighting so that we can critique the rest.
Im very busy at the moment, work and sailing, but as soon i get home tomorrow i’ll get back to it, i’ve been experimenting with the light and contrast, and im getting some really nice results… just hang in there
At last i got something worthy of posting, i have (almost) totally remodeled everything, tweaked materials, and lots and lots of other small improvements.
Sunday night i will be going to France, if you crits get to me in time i’ll see what can do, but dont expect me back in the seven days:)
