INDIGO export function....

hello everyone…
i am making a drum kit. and recently got told to render it using indigo…
but i need to save as an xml file.? but i dunno how.?
if anyone can help that would be great…
thanks

Hi! I’m new to Indigo, but I’ve played a bit with it.
First, use the last 0.9 version of Indigo, and Blendigo exporter. These releases will give you the best result and workflow.
Blendigo script generates an igs file, which is an xml file disguized. Just open the file in a text editor, and you will see all the usual parameters.
For what I’ve seen so far, Blendigo converts automatically (almost) only the first material of an object, so you’ll have to check the other materials if your object has multiple materials.
You’ll find here my first attempts using Indigo :

just trying to figure out indigo.

got the exporter blendigo… installed properly and everything…
but when i go to render my scene. it says i have must have at least one light source.
and i have all layers selected and 3 light.??

dont get it.

if anyone can help would be great…thanks everyone… shannon

You need to create a ‘meshlight’ or whatever it is that indigo calls them. Basically, just make a material that’s he colour of your light, then set the emit value to something above zero. Whatever this material is applied to will emit light - light-globe, bulb filiment, flouro tube, etc, etc.

I’m impatient, so I also like to decrease the time between screen refreshes from about 20 or 30 seconds down to 10.

Simon.

You can also make you light a sun, you don’t have to make an object a light sorce

that post did not deserve a bump that big
