Ingram Mac 10

Hey everyone. I have always wanted to make a weapon model with Blender, and decided to make an Ingram Mac 10 first VERY EARLY WIP:

Now I am just curious about one thing (I am new to modeling as a whole):
Do I have to model the internals if I want to animate once I finish modeling it?

Any feedback would be very welcome:)

No…and yes…that depends on what type of animations you are doing. If they involve to pieces goin g in different derections and yet stay connected (like a human arm), the easiest way is to use armitures. If you just wanted that gun to rotate, then no…or maybe the trigger to pull back, then no…just go to google and look up: how to animate an object using blender. That should get you going…oh and try using subsurfs to help make the gun more smooth and rounder.

I looked at it a little closer and it looks as if you used bezier curves to create the handle…dude you need to use subsurfs when modelling…go to grey beards blender video site and download his tuts on subsurfing. Note: Subsurfs are now a modifier and can’t be found unless applied in object mode.

No, just vertex editing.

Also, I took your guys advice, and added a subserf to the handle… and it was completely screwed up, so I changed it back.
