Inkscape Tracing of Blender Models + GIMP touch ups.

And this is alchemy . … recently there was another “fish” like alchemy works in this section of the forum, so I borrowed the idea.

I was struck by the bug recently, so was a bit too crook to do serious art. Anyways . … here goes . . . This was an attempt to get into Frank Frazetta style . . . I love colours so I went for an egg/atom/beginning of the universe attempt.

This set of three guys chanting at the universe . . . .I wanted the background to be black, and the image kind of cracked and ancient. The result was nothing as what I wanted in my mind. . …

Still doing some Frank Frazetta studies . . …

I have a bit slack recently regarding my referencing, so the models are all make-human, and the egg/atom/begining of the universe is from blender.

Panel 19.

I am working on the heroine. I plan to use some combination of mortal kombat clothing (a bit modified) and hair for this exercise to achieve consistency. When I get sketches, I may put it up.

This is a first sketch of the heroine. I got a dress mesh off the 'net, modified it. Same with the hair. There will be a lot of work/time involved for the heroine. I am happy with the dress somewhat, I wanted laces, and puffed sleeves but I will leave it for now. Maybe later in the storyline.

Panel 20!! I did some work on the dress (making it a bit low-poly) and some work on the hair.

And then afterwards, some work on the hair. This gets me 21 panels all up!

Panel 22. Will put up the next one shortly.

This one took a while to get going. It was a bit complicated, and I was doing it in stages. The next will also be based on the three characters in the panel. It took about 3-4 hours all up, as I was planning and all.

Viewing over a couple of the panels all on page 3: I see a style that seems light blasted at most times, it looks very nice.

The abscense of alot of shadow creates an apearance of sheer contour, where light has no effect. Very stylized.

For more commentation, I see that alot of the movement portayed seems stiff, and walking seems awkward. I would recomend watching people walk down the streets; observing how they walk and how thier postures portray thier emotions. Its a good idea to remember that not all emotions can be portrayed using speech bubbles.

Thanks Mr. Moehawk. You helped me a lot when I was in my “manga phase”. You are right, I’ve been at this project for a month of Sundays, and when I view the first few panels, they are indeed quite static. Once I get all the panels done, I will add some more details like speed lines, clothing folds and so on, just to make them more dynamic. At this stage, I am working on them at a rate that is quite unprofessional, so occasionally I have to refer to my notes so as to get some consistancy. Thank you so much!

Ooops. Panel 23. I forgot to put it up.
