To that level in a year???

This is really not AI-generated, the folds of the skin are so real, did you do this with all of blender’s native features

To be precise, more than one year, started in early 2023…

yes, every 3d work in blender ,from model ,sculpt,uw,hair ,rig, weight paint ,to render
and paint 2d textures in photoshop.

Great! Very realistic. The lighting makes it a lil bit creepy. Can you show us also your facial expressions rig in overlay?

Ah… Yes, that helps for sure.

But organic modeling is always harder, at least for me
Don’t be a stranger on the forum and keep posting great work! :+1:

And your previous work with the forest and lake also looks great.

yes, organic modeling is also harder for me too.
but ,It also helped that I drew a lot of portraits when I was young.
thank you for your kind words,Iwill do my best~ :+1:

Nice work!
Yes, Blender has certain advantages in direct modeling, especially in areas like mesh optimizations due to more flexible mesh engine (I also has come from 3dsmax and archviz)

facial rigging is a beast and this level is just wow!!, although i am a bit curious, do you rely on displacements maps or normal maps for the skin bumps, displacements tends to be quite heavy and i don’t know if normal maps will come out great.

I use normal map for the skin bump, displacement for the larger wrinkles, such as frown

thanks a lot, i am still learning and this really helps me out. i don’t want to sound pesty and hope i am not , but for your face rig did you manually rig and weight paint everything, or you used an auto rigger out there, i haven’t seen any auto rigger of quality and finding a tutorial for facial rigging isn’t easy too, is there an advice for me to follow on this?

I used automatic weights firstly, then weight paint .
I learned from this tutorial by CGDive
