Does anyone use my “Inset Polygon” addon? (It is in released addons, but needs to be enabled in User Preferences, at which point an “Inset Polygon” button appears on the mesh tool shelf.)
I am thinking of moving it to contrib and then probably removing it.
It does have an “auto-merge-on-collision” feature that the built-in inset does not, but I don’t know if people know that and use it for that. I’ll eventually try to move that functionality into the built-in inset.

I use it the “Inset Polygon” Addon, it’s very useful.
Can you show us what “auto-merge-on-collision” does ? I do not understand it.
Kind regards
Alain

Hi Howardt,
I use it too, but I’ll be really happy to see it integrated in the C tool, best would be as a modifier if you can

Hi Howardt,
i have tested that Addon a while.
It is similar to the default Inset [I], but in older Version it works much faster.

I’d like to have the inset tool for edge strings as well (not only for polygons)

I use it, but I thought it was the only inset available. I always enable it first thing whenever I acquire a new version of Blender.
I love it. Thanks for making it!
