Install errors and python 2.4

I have just downloaded and installed the newest version and received the following error message once starting setup.

Compiled with Python Version 2.4
import site failed use -v for traceback
checking for installed python
no installed python found
only built in modules are available-some scripts may not run
continuing happily

As a newbie I’d appreciate any help. This program has great potential from everything I’ve seen.

go to www.python.org download Python 2.4.3 and install.
It is not needed but worth installing anyway.


the site is also very interesting containing lots of information.
*note make sure it’s python 2.4.3 NOT python 2.5
