Installing (.png) icon sets in mac

Hi! I’ve been searching all over the net for a long while, and I haven’t found any answer to this.

All I’ve found is that I can install new icon sets by creating a “/icons” folder under “/.blender”, but when I try to change the UI settings it seems blender doesn’t see that folder, and I only get the built-in option.

any clue?

thanks!

The /.blender folder in under your home directory.

For me it is: Macintosh HD/Users/richardmarklew/.blender/icons

Hey thanks a lot for your quick reply!
I’ve been trying to get to that folder, but I’m not capable.
I think icons folder must be in the same place as the scripts folder is, isn’t it?
Which for me is : /Applications/blender 2/blender.app/Contents/MacOS/.blender/ … (then /scripts or /icons)

You need to put the icons folder in the .blender folder under your home directory, not the one in the blender.app contents. It is a hidden folder. To show hidden files see this thread http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=157298

Well, downloaded the widget that shows hidden files in finder. But I can’t see where /.blender folder is.
Can’t see it under Macintosh HD/Users/liser/
I’m using blender 2.49

Thaks again!

Just create that folder (Macintosh HD/Users/richardmarklew/.blender/icons) by hand and it works

thanks everyone, specially Fog22
