instance grouping

I was wondering if there’s a way to duplicate a group of nodes so that it does’t create a reference, but an actual new instance.

If I shift+d a group and then tweak a node, say a curve, inside the group, all the groups’ nodes update with this change. I would like to have these copies independent of each other. Do I need to recreate the groups out of individual nodes all the time?
