Instance verts: align to vertex normal

Hey,

I am trying to instance an object to the verts of an ico sphere to eventually model a lipid vesicle. For this I need the lipid to be perpendicular to the verts. There is some info in the blender manual: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/scene_layout/object/properties/instancing/verts.html. Here they make something similar, tentacles on a sphere. But I tried several thing but I never get my lipids perpendicular aligned. I followed the steps and I don’t know what I am doing wrong. Does sombody of you guys know how to achieve this?

My guess is you missed the part about the ‘Tracking Axis’ or you need to rotate your object in ‘EDIT’ mode, make sure that you have applied any previous rotation or clear it. Prob better to use faces instead of verts for your dupli’s.
