Uh, hi, this is my first time actually looking into buying a graphics card that wasn’t pre-installed on my computer…
Well, basically a 8600 nivida GEForce GTS is available for $39.99, a price I can afford. This is my first time buying, installing, and upgrading my computer. But, I want to make sure that my computer is compatible with this card. Basically my computer is a Dell Dimension 3000 with intel inside premium 2 processor and 512 MB of RAM. So… do you think I should upgrade? Also I need to know quick, the deal ends on the 15th.

Get a GeForce 8800 GT or above, those GPU’s will easily handle a lot of recent games and allow you to make cool stuff with the BGE’s GLSL.

Yeah, I’m not rich, and I thought the 8600s are capable of GLSL (To some extent)?

That computer will not have a PCI-E slot. Besides, it’d be a total bottleneck.
