I’ve somehow made the font used in the Blender face unreadable. (Please see the attachment for details

The interface is so bad, I’m not even sure what I’d click on to fix the problem.
What In Dog’s name did I do to myself?

Still no success with an answer ?
Well this is not a typical case…
Did you change graphic card recently ?
New drivers ?
New settings on the drivers like full anti-aliasing ?
Did you try one new font in the Preference window, Language & Fonts, Internationnal Fonts (such a misnamer since that is where anyone, English speaking or not, can change the font to display in the interface…)
Can’t think of much more…
Jean
Good morning, Jean. Thanks for the response.
I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the software, and the problem remains. Presumably that would eliminate any problem caused by changing the font.
I haven’t changed graphics cards. (And if it was anything to do with that, presumably it would affect other displays in other programs.)
I have, however, occasionally added fonts for other programs.
If I somehow ended up with an inappropriate font for Humanst521bt, which I believe is the default interface font, where would I obtain a replacement font?
Best,
Ken
Yes it would. Good move.

Not necessalily : Blender has had many problems with certain card/driver combo that no other program was having to my knowledge.

The default font is .Bfont.ttf . It sits in your [installation_folder]\Blender.blender .
I doubt that you could hurt this one.
To experiment with another font go to the Preference window (ada the Info window) at the top of Blender ; the menu there is just the header of that window so pull it down. In the sub-window Languages and Fonts press on International Fonts (no really !) then choose a font you have installed.
Best luck.
Jean
Okay, following your suggestion that I experiment, I switched off international fonts AND killed textured fonts. That gave me a satisfactory user interface from a fonts perspective. Thanks Jean!
However, paradoxically enough, textured fonts still show up in all of the work areas, (grr), and many of the menus aren’t responsive.
Best,
K.
Are you on Windows and are you using an ATI card ?
Try to disable completely the hardware acceleration : if Blender behaves somewhat better there lies the problem.
