Haven’t been here in forever and thought I’d drop by to get some crits and advice on my first Interior scene. I want it to be really simple, yet look really nice. I’ve modeled most of the main parts and now I just need to add the finishing touches like lighting, misc objects, etc…
Here’s what I have so far, any crits are appreciated
Internal Render…? I think that u should change the angle, must place an area light by the window to simulate the sun, more samples and a bigger soft size on the main light to affect the main shadow, also the sofa needs some touch on the modelling it looks too hard surface…
The first thing that caught my eye was the main sofa, not too sure what texture you where going for but a smooth black leather material will look great there. Staring at the image for awhile I noticed the something about the painting/picture on the wall. It looks like a landscape image showing bear trees with yellow trees in the background of the image, it looks cool portrait but maybe it will look better landscape.
Now some other suggestion I think will help with the image.
The window looks very bear/plain, I think Blinds half opened will really look better and also create cool shadows in the room. I am guessing the silver cylinders on the wall are lights, if the blinds are in it will make the room abit darker, why not then put those lights on, it will create a nice lighting effect on the wall. Then if you want to model anything else you could put a tall lamp stand in the corner of the room behind the couch.
@Andrepazleal - It’s rendered in Yafaray and took some 4 hours to render on my slow comp. I do agree, the sofa is in need of a touch up. I plan on working on it a bit more when I get some time tonight.
@Intrinsic - I was actually going to a leather look, but some how I got this odd cloth looking material. I haven’t had much time to use Yafaray, so I’m not too sure how all the materials work just yet. I was using procedural textures, but I’m not sure if that’s the way to go. I do like your idea about the picture. After I rendered last night I noticed that the picture is actually rotated. I will try to add some blinds to the window, thanks for the idea
