Interior lighting

so I have been working on this interior scene for the past 2 days, spent one day trying to get the lighting that I want. the problem is that there is nowhere near enough light going in the scene through the window.

the only way I can pump light in is to increase the light power which has the side effect of desaturating bits of the exterior part, which is not what I want. I’ve tried to use hdr too, same problem.

the outcome I want from this is to have realistic lighting for the interior without desaturating the exterior part. if anyone has any tips or tricks of these types of lighting please let me know thanks.

Set up realistic lights, and adjust exposure to get what you want.
Save as exr and bring back the outside in post. That’s how photography
is done, and it’s called window pulling. You can’t get everything realistic
and with one exposure, but in CG we can get away with one render.
