Interior Night Scene

Hello guys, I’m new both Blender Artist, and Blender 3D itself. This is my first render created with Blender. I know I have a lot to learn and would very much like some tips. I created this using the Cycles render engine inside blender. With 3000 samples and it took 2 hours 15 minutes to render. I did have some glass in the picture frames and on the tv screen. I also used a mix shader on the lamp with SSS and Translucent. This was all CPU rendering since I only have an ATI video card at the moment… I’m trying to speed up the render times without losing much quality. Anyone got any tips?

Hmm, that’s pretty noisy for 3k samples, have you had a look at this wiki entry?

Thanks! I am reading it now I hope it helps. I just created the “Daytime” version of this scene with 6000 samples and full 1080P resolution. It took 10 hours 46 minutes to render… :frowning: Yes I need to learn how to take control of the noise… Here is the daytime render.
