IMP has just finished submitting an entry to the Internet RayTracing Competition(http://www.irtc.org). We are now discussing our plans for the next round. We use POV-Ray for rendering, and have an active distributed renderfarm that averages 30-40 nodes. All our animations and sources are released into the public domain. Our in-house software utilities are released under the GPL.
