Interpolated children particle issues

Hello,

I found an answer from another topic, but it was from 2019 (which is ancient in today’s age). Just curious if there has been an update for a setting that I’m not seeing.

The issue is with interpolated children particles. If there are too few parents, the children orient themselves according to the parent, not the objects normals. So this produces “flat” patches around the object.

Has there been any update to the children settings which would resolve this?

I think that’s just the expected behavior. You are simply expected to use more parent particles. The hair system in Blender is old and the developpers are working on a new one, so if there is ever a change in this behavior, it will have to wait for the new hair system.
