Intersecting Objects bad form?

Maybe this is more a matter of opinion. Do people commonly intersect objects intentionally, for example a neck cutting into a head to allow the head to be a seperate rotateable object? Is this just considered poor style? Are there problems with it that might develop later? Does it use more resources because it is constantly registering a colision?

I know IPOs set to property would fix this but I want a seperate IPO at the same time for the same object etc.

There shouldn’t be any problems with that at all. Providing that both of the objects aren’t dynamic, and providing that if 1 is dynamic the other doesn’t have collision faces, than it should be fine.

Yeah It still seems like a sloppy thing to do but I I hope it will save memory compared to other methods.
