Hi guys, you know when you start blender and you see a picture and the version number? is it possible to replace this with another picture? Not that important, though I’d prefer to add my own startup picture.
sure, ive seen it done. don’t know how to do it myself, but for sure its possible
You need to compile your own version from source if you want to change the splash image.
it’s called “splash screen” and is compiled from this file to a C data structure:
blender\release\datafiles\splash.png
The picture contains only the image, the blender logo and “Blender 2.6x”, everything else you see in the splash screen is drawn dynamically.

There is a patch floating about somewhere that adds the ability to change it on the fly in the userprefs.
