Inverse Kinematics rotating weird

This is my first time using inverse kinematics and I set up but ran into an issue. It looks normal when the bone is at its origin, but when it’s moved straight up, the bones move up like they’re supposed to, but for some reason, they turn on the z-axis. If you know what Im doing wrong, I would appreciate the help.

How is the bone bent in its rest pose? Blender’s IK will prefer the angle built into the bones. If there is some Z axis rotation built in, it will prefer some Z axis rotation in the IK.

The bone has no rotation it is in its “alt g alt r” state

I don’t mean its pose state. I mean its rest state. How it looks in edit mode.
