I was wondering if it were possible to copy and paste IPO curves, for example a Time curve, onto the IPO’s of many objects without having to do it manually for each item.
Say, I’ve got a bunch of bullets going for this one guy, and I want them all to slow down, Via time curves. So I make one time curve, and want all the other bullets to follow the same Time curve, without having to redo their Object IPO’s.
Not sure.
As far I understood, you have a gun fireing bullets (acceleration) one after the other (how else) hitting an object and get decelerated.
Here’s what I would do:
Setting up the Loc and Time IPO of one bullet.
Copy the bullet X times. If object data are linked, all bullets now have the same IPO. (If not, you have to assign the IPO of the first bullet in IPO window.)
Now every bullet is made Single user to the IPO and each bullet is given a delay by shifting the Time curve.
So, still some handwork but you have to set up the IPOs only one time.
BTW, you can copy and paste IPOs with the arrow keys in IPO window. As far as I know this works for one object at a time.
I think I know what you mean. You can simply select the object that you want to paste the time IPO on and select the same obj block as the original.
Just in case you don’t know how:
In the IPO window, theres a little - thing just like in all the other windows. If you add new, the default name should be ObIpo.
I’m not sure, but this may actually just copy the object keys, so the bullets might end up following the exact same animation, meaning they will appear to be like a single bullet.
