My project was made with 2.49 so i need a tutorial using 2.49 but any tut will help. I made an aquarium and the bubbles look good but not great, they move side to side like bubbles floating up do, but i need the bubbles to deform maybe even slightly rotating as they float up. Right now I am using a 3d bubble object but i can just as easily use a 2d image( my aquarium is made in the game engine) Any tutorials that do that would help or if someone makes a quick example so i can learn from it would be great help.
I am guessing that by “3d bubble object” you mean you are using a UV Sphere or some other mesh object in that general shape. The easiest way to do this would probably be to make a squashed-looking shape key on the object. Then you can keyframe the deformation as it drifts upward. You’d also want to keyframe some slight rotation. Making a master control bone to control the rotation and another bone to control a driver for the shape key may or may not make this easier for you to animate; I’m inclined to think that would just be an extra couple of steps but ymmv.
Any general tutorials on shape keys and keyframe animation should get you what you need. These are probably a pretty good place to start: http://www.youtube.com/user/Enigmatoots/
