Ipod Problem Help!

ok so i have an ipod video 30 gb…i have had it since april and i have 2888 songs and some videos…half of the songs were previousley added by a friend of mine and half were added by my brothers computer…i had no problems playing any of those…

then 1 month ago some of the songs i added from my brothers computer wouldnt work it would simply return me to the main menu…and then when i try reloading them agaoin from itunes…it says the ipod “name of ipod” cannot be updated. The file or directory is corrupt and unreadable.

well i dont want to lose my songs but i also want to update my songs…any help would be greatly appreciated…and restoring my ipod is the last option…

This is a shot in the dark, but maybe you can access the files via Windows Explorer (or a similar program) copy them to your HD, and then add them into iTunes on your PC…(This probably won’t work unless you have your iPod set up to be a removable disk, though) If they’re actually corrupted, then there’s no way that’ll work…Hopefully you can get it all fixed.

If you need to get your songs back off the ipod, try this program:

It may just have been itunes messing up.

you can do that i’ve done it before…the thing is i dont want to copy 2888 songs and videos onto my harddrive…:slight_smile:

well its too late anyways…i restored her:(…and now im updating the songs again…688 of the songs…

i hate it when that happens, i get loads of people who have spent ages building up there perfect library then i got to tell em there is no other way :frowning:

yea i hate it too…blah wat the heck…im uldating the newest songs so it’ll be alright…:)…the sadd thing is i wont be able to show off that i have 30 times someones library…:p…oh BTW i have no idea wat a appple care pretection plan is…is it like a warranty?

yea, you might think its only a warranty, but if its in it one year warranty i would get it, it also covers the battery for two years :slight_smile:

and unlimited tech. support

i need to get one for me ipod, just for repairs and stuff though outside the one year :rolleyes: lol

its 39 pounds over here (uk), think its like $50, which is a lot but, the repairs are pretty expensive (cheapest is $190) and battery is about $100

trak wrecka: Out of curiosity, what case (if any) do you have for your iPod? I just got a black iPod video last week, and ordered a case yesterday (the eVo3) to check out, because it got good reviews.
