Is anyone looking into Point-cache for 2.5?
I ask because having point-cache as an interchange format opens blender to Maya and max in a huge way.
Our film pipeline is rig and animate in Maya, point-cache the mesh into max and render with Vray. I would love to be able to get that mesh into blender and use it in our pipe more often. I also think i wouldn’t be alone here.
Max’s PC2 format does not support dynamic topology but it’s MC format (which is Maya’s native point-cache format) does.
It would be great if blender supported this as a modifier. I know Matt Ebb played with this a while ago and really think it would be a great addition to 2.5.
