Hello
I started blendering again after an absence of 1.5 years.
off course my skills are very rusty and I have some stupid questions for all you blenderfreaks (again)
I did the firework tutorial and now I would like to make a scene with my firework objects.
The import of the objects works fine (shift + F1) but I can not (easily) change the alpha curve.
I have 4 objects that have a particle effect at frame 25, and the alpha of the particles starts at frame 25 with a value of 0.150 and fades to a value of 0 at frame 90.
Is there an easy way to change the start frame of the particles (say put in on frame 30) and have the alpha curve automatically adjust (thus start at frame 30 with value 0.150 and fade to value 0 at frame 95) ?
I have exactly the same problem with the energy of the lamp
Also a problem is I don’t see the IPO curve of the Alpha value or the Energy value
thank you very much
and BTW: IT IS GREAT TO BE BACK !!!
sincerely anatak
Offset and recalc maybe?
oke let me ask my question different.
can you parent a Lamp ipo to a Material ipo?
this would help a bit allready as I only have to change 2 things in stead of 3
You could add a time Ipo to one emitter and link this Ipo to the other emitters.
How to:
Select emitter, open Ipo window (object Ipos), select Time with LMB (turns white), move cursor over the grid of the Ipo window, Ctrl+LMB adds a Ipo with one key.
Now edit the Time Ipo.
I. e.:
Frame 1: x=1, Y=24
Frame 5: x=30, Y=25
Frame 95: x=95 Y=90
To link this Ipo to the other emitters
First select the emitter without a Time Ipo, second the one with a Time Ipo, Ctrl+L --> Link object Ipo
The material Ipos should be effected by the time Ipos too.
To see the alpha and energy Ipos you have to change the Ipo window to material (icon with the sphere) or Lamp (icon with a lamp). Default is object Ipos (icon with axis)
you can’t do that directly, but you can Copy/Paste IPO curves from one object to the next.

I thought it was not possible to do but I ll try the workaround from tordat.
thanks
I ll let you know how it works out
