You are a true Rebel… torturing yourself with such a behaviour… … or is this called masochism ??
So we have seen you here since August and you are already telling in the other thread how blender has to be handled with… even if blender is already here for over 25 years…
Just to pipe in here. I’m going to suggest that this is indeed a case of “wrong tool for the job”… and more importantly, I think the proposal for the “right tool” isn’t quite right either.
What you’re looking for is what I’m going to refer to as “multi-bisect”. That is, take Blender’s existing Bisect tool, which slices on a plane and can fill the holes of those halves quite easily… now give it the ability to have multiple parallel slices like the Loop Cut tool, perhaps with controls on how to distribute those multiple slices (on one side of the initial cutting plane or both sides, for example). With that, you’d have exactly what you’re looking for.
Technically speaking, I don’t imagine that this would be all that difficult of a feature to add to Blender. However, I imagine that the number of practical scenarios where that would be useful is somewhat limited. That is, it’s really handy for a specific scenario like yours, but perhaps not so beneficial to everyone else using the tool. For that reason, that additional functionality has likely either been overlooked entirely… or (more likely) noted and marked as a future “nice to add” thing that someone will do when they have time and interest.
Fortunately, that someone could be you (or someone you pay). That’s the power of open source.
Hi,
To save you from continuous and excessive stress due to the difficulty of implementing a project in Blender and a new crisis of gluten intolerance…
