Is it possible to exclude specific objects from Cycles AO node?

I’m wondering if it’s possible to exclude specific objects from the Cycles Ambient Occlusion node, so those objects don’t affect the AO?

I don’t think it can be done directly. But depending on the purpose, using render layers and the compositor can be a workaround. You would have to disable the objects in question altogether for the AO render layer. Thus these won’t affect AO but won’t be affected by AO also. Whether that is okay or not I cannot tell without more details.
