Is it possible to link shape keys to object?

I have two linked clones of a face, with shape keys, and I need them both to show different expressions. I can’t use the pin, because I want to blend a few shapes. How can I set different shape keys for each object?


I’ve not have much experience with Shapes, but I think the shape key datablocks are linked to the mesh, not the object. You’d have to create single user copies of your mesh objects, then you’d be able to set up different shape keys.
